We check it very regularly! If you need to pick up an order, shoot us an email & we will schedule a time for someone to be there. I apologize for an inconvenience this may cause, but with the studio closing at the end of the month, our time is very limited.

All Good Things Must Come to an End...

As you all may have noticed outside of the studio, we have now put up a "For Sale" sign. My original plan was to try & find a bigger place while we continue to grow. After several sleepless nights, many "long talks" with my husband & even some "short talks" with my boys, I have decided to put the entire studio on the market. For the past five years, I have spent many evenings & Saturdays with my customers, and I have no regrets. However, this is time that I have not spent with my family.
When we first opened our doors five years ago, we had a relatively small client base. Over the years, it has grown to hundreds....if not thousands of new faces. Now, this is ideally the goal of all businesses, but with growth comes more time & responsibilities. With my youngest son starting Kindergarten this year & my oldest going into the third grade, I want to be able to be home when they get home from school & experience what every mother, given the opportunity, should get to experience.
I will still be available, on a very limited basis, for location shoots. As far as weddings, I have over 10 weddings scheduled from now through next July....so I am not going anywhere! I am still shooting all of my weddings & possibly adding a few more!
I feel that God lead me to Memorable Moments & to all of my customers for a reason. You all have made a huge impact on my life & for that "I Thank You".
We are not closing just yet & are still doing & booking shoots. I believe that you all are a part of my family, so I just wanted to keep you in the loop. As soon as I know more, I will let you know. Michelle will be at the studio, checking the messages & email daily, so if you need anything, please let me know.

The loss of a MMP family member

On July 8th, 2008 we lost a valued member of our family. Our cocker spaniel & family member of 12 years, Tigger passed away very peacefully. This past week has been extremely hard for both myself, as well as my husband & boys. You grow so attached to your "furry children" & it is hard to let them go. But deep inside, you just know that God is ready for them & that they will suffer no more. Please keep our family in your prayers.

We are back & we bring with us tons of SUPER beach portraits & some (much needed) rest & relaxation...that is if you can relax with two boys near the ocean! I would like to thank all of our customers who woke their children up at the crack of dawn, put on just the right outfits & came out on the beach with huge smiles & even some hugs! The weather was beautiful...well except for the late evening sand storm we experienced one night....your family is such a trooper Boo! Wow! It is hard to believe that another school year has come & gone. With some gritted teeth, pulled out hair (all mine) & a lot of prayer, Colby completed second grade & will be moving on to third grade. YEAH!!! I am definitely a proud mama! Camden, my youngest, will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. I sure hope that Boger Elementary is ready for both of my boys!
Anyhow, below are a few pictures from our past sessions. I think that they turned out great! I know that I am behind on my postings, but I am trying to do better. There really needs to be more time in the day, don't you think.... Enjoy guys!

Before I was a Mom I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a Mom,I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.
Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

I had never been
puked on
Pooped on

I slept all night.

You Have Done it Again!

WOW! It is hard for me to believe that we are completely booked for our South Carolina Beach Portraits the week of July 4th! We now have a waiting list with several families chomping at the bit to see if anyone cancels. Remember, though, if you can't have the real beach, you can always have your pictures taken during our In-Studio "A Day at the Beach" sessions July 21-30. This is where we bring in over 500 pounds of sand! My husband still thinks I'm crazy to do this...but those of you who know me know that I will do anything for a GREAT shot! Thanks again for your overwhelming support of all that we do here at Memorable Moments! We would not be where we are today with all of YOU!

Just thought I would let you guys know that my little man, who was in surgery just two weeks ago, graduated from preschool this past Thursday...Cast & All! Dimitri, my husband, reminded me that our oldest son, Colby, graduated from preschool three years ago with a cast on his arm. What are the chances!

Hello studio family members. This month has been very crazy around the studio. This October will be MMP's BIG "5 Year" Anniversary & we are very excited! Michelle & I have been planning all kinds of specials & even a HUGE Customer Appreciation Celebration at The Club at Irish Creek (formally Kannapolis Country Club). As soon as all the details are ironed out we will let you know. One of our year long specials is when you purchase over $200, before taxes, you are eligable to purchase our 3x3 custom mini book (which contains 10 pictures), regularly $65 for only $25 and/or our 4x5 custom mini book (which contains 10 pictures), regularly $95 for only $45!! These are very big sellers!

A Mother's Nightmare

You always wonder as a mother, what you would do if something happened to your children...Yesterday, my youngest son, Camden tested my worst fear. He & his brother were playing on a hammock & he fell off. He completely broke the two bones in his lower left arm. When I ran to him, his arm was very deformed & he was screaming! To make a long story short, I took him straight to Northeast Medical Center. They were phenomenal! They immediately put us into a room & at approximately 10:00pm, Camden was in surgery. By that point I don't know who was crying more...Camden, my husband or me! Camden came through the surgery with flying colors. He is now at home, casted & is doing much better. I can honestly say that I have not let him out of my site!
Because I am such a worried mom, our studio hours this week may be a little different than normal. If you come by & we are closed I apologize. I do know, however that we will be in the office tomorrow until around 12:30 & Thursday until around 4pm. Again guys, I apologize for any inconvenience & any delays in your orders.

On Thurday, I took my youngest son's preschool Graduation pictures. Now this was a real tear jerker for me. Camden has always been my "little boy" & for the first time, I realized that he is growing up.....but by no means am I getting older (Ha!Ha!). Now, more than ever, the phrase, "Cherish every moment" seems to come to mind....and I plan on doing just that! Congradulations on your upcoming Graduation Camden! Mommy loves you!

What a Celebration!

On Saturday, April 5, Stacey & I had the pleasure of photographing the Carmichael/Nickem Wedding & I must say, "This was definitely 7 hours of pure FUN!" From the moment I met Candace & Charlie, I knew that this was going to be an event to remember. The bride, Candace, is a little fireball!!! From the moment I entered the bridal suite at First Assembly, until the moment that the bride & groom drove off, Candace's smile never left her face. And the groom, Charlie, seemed to never take his eyes off of his beautiful bride the entire night.

And as far as the weather...a little rain never hurt anyone! It may have been storming outside, but the sun never shined brighter at the reception. This crowd danced & partied throughout the night. I don't think the Copperfield Room will ever be the same! To Candace & Charlie...I wish you all the best! Thank you so much for including me in your special day. I am definitely a better person for knowing you two!

We are Back!

Well Studio family members, we are back from vacation & Disney World is still standing! We had a great time. The boys are still talking about all the rides that they rode & all the characters that they met. I must say though, it was very crowded. I am not sure if we will try & tackle spring break at Disney again.....maybe next time we will try Halloween. Here are a few of my favorite pictures...Believe it or not, I took over 600!

Hey Studio family members! Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Easter! The studio will be closed from Friday, March 21-Monday, March 31. My husband & I are loading down the Tahoe & heading for Florida. My boys are so excited to get to see Mickey & Minnie again. Camden is finally tall enough to ride most of the rides.

Max & Bitty Bunny were a HIT!

It is hard to believe that it is almost Easter! We were very blessed to have had such wonderful bunnies at the studio this year. Max & Bitty Bunny have gone back home to be with their families, but they will not be forgotten. Max was definitely the "poser" of the two. He loved to stand up on his hind legs during the shoots & flash his bunny teeth at the camera! The kids thought this was soooo funny. We told them that was his trick. Due to the large number of bunny shoots this year, I am unable to put all of my favorites on the website, however I have included a few below as a tribute to our loving Max & Bitty....

The Efird-Helms Celebration

On Saturday, March 1st, we had the pleasure of photographing Jessica & Daniel's wedding in Kannapolis, North Carolina. I have known Jessica's mom for several years. She is one of the best teachers that I know! She is very outgoing & my boys love her. Jessica is no exception. Her enthusiasm bubbled over the entire day. I believe that you just know when two people are made for each other & in my opinion, these two are! I have photographed quite a few weddings over the past 5 years & I have seen many exits by the bride & groom. This wedding exit, however, took the cake. Jessica & Daniel left the reception in the usual way. The guest lined the sidewalk with birdseed in hand, but little did the bride & groom know, some had more than birdseed. As Jessica & Daniel ran down the sidewalk, all of the groomsmen threw powdered grits at the happy couple. The groom was covered! Everyone, even Jessica & Daniel erupted in laughter. To top it off, Daniel's car was filled with sawdust! As they rode away, amongst all the craziness, I saw the loving couple kiss. That, my friends is what love is truly about! The Bunnies have Arrived!!!

On Thursday afternoon, my boys & I drove to Winston Salem to pick up our "temporary" family members from our breeder. There were over 78 bunnies to choose from & my boys picked, in my opinion, the cutest of the bunch. On the way home, the bunnies were named & thus Max (derived from Max & Ruby) & Bitsey Bunny were born.

Yes, studio family members, as you can tell, I am way behind on my blog. Not that I am making excuses (but I am), my oldest son fell on Saturday, February 16 & had to get stitches in both the outside & inside of his lip. This was an experience in itself. As a mom, nothing is worse than seeing you kids in pain. I am happy to say, though, that he is doing much better & it looks like he will not have a scar!
Okay, Okay...Back to the blog. I am currently trying to catch up to where I should be. I have a wedding this weekend (March 1, 2008), but after that I am just going to "blog it" all weekend! Thanks again for your patience guys! Don't loose faith in me!

A True Fairy

Little "K" is truly a vision in her fairy costume. Her "GaGa" brought her early Saturday morning for her first ever Winter Wonderland shoot & she did amazing! It is hard to believe that she had been up since 3am! I wish I looked that good after no sleep! Well, as promised "GaGa", Miss "K's" pictures turned out great. Miss "R" came in to do her 4 year old portraits as well as, Valentine's Day cards. Now Miss "R's" mom is the most organized person that I know. Her family sends out cards for every holiday. She once told me that she thought about scaling them down, but she said that everyone loves seeing Miss "R" grow!
You know they say great minds think alike...I also like to send out cards for every holiday! My boys, on the other hand, don't enjoy it as much. Could it be because they have to pose for all the holiday pictures...I'm still trying to figure that out. Anyway,
Miss "R" is truly a pleasure to photograph. Her personality keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time! I am blessed to have such wonderful customers!

Little "J"

Little "J" is the vision of a storybook snow princess. Not only is she pretty, but she is continually tilting her head or twirling around to get just the right pose for just the right picture! Once again, there are some children who make my job too easy. Little "J" is one of these children. She enters the studio with a smile & leaves with a smile. Don't we wish we could all be this happy! Waiting on the Snow...

Princess "D" was one of our last Saturday shoots. On this particular day, the weathermen were calling for snow to start moving in just after lunch. During our shoot we were continually looking out the windows to see if our "big snow storm" had arrived. Princess "D" was the perfect fairy. Her genuine smile came through in all of her pictures. Here at Memorable Moments we strive to capture each child's character in each session that we do. I believe that we did just that during this session. You go Miss "D"!

When Miss "K" enters our front door, we know that we are going to have a good time! For this shoot, she brought a big bag full of her fairy & princess costumes. She thought that all the princesses, including Tinkerbell & the Little Mermaid, should have the opportunity to get their pictures made in the snow. After several minutes, I talked her into saving her Little Mermaid costume until our studio beach session, but Tinkerbell had to make an appearance! What would we do without children to keep us young! Enjoy the pictures mom!

Princess "C"

Who knew that snow fairies would be so cute! Miss "M" is a real snow fairy. She lives up in the North Carolina mountains with her mom & dad. When she arrived at the studio & saw that our snow wasn't cold, as she was used to, she loved it. We had a great time with this shoot. I am still pulling snow out of my hair!

Winter Wonderland Princess

Yes, it is hard to believe that it is that time again! Old man winter has arrived & with him, not only has he brought cold air & frigid temperatures, but he has delivered a beautiful Winter Wonderland set to the studio as well. This set has definitely grown in popularity over the years. We have a limited number of spaces & it usually fills up quick. This year our first little snow princess was Miss "H". Now, she takes a little while to warm up to the camera. When she does, however, her smile could melt even the largest iceberg! Her mom has been patiently waiting to do these portraits since Miss "H" was born. I definitely think her pictures are worth the wait. Here are a few of my favorites!

I'm Back!!!

Hey Studio family members! My mom, sisters & I have returned from our annual "Just the Girls" Cruise. This year we went to Key West & Nassau. We had a great time & the weather was beautiful. Needless to say, we all got burnt. I have included a few pictures from our trip. Hope you enjoy...

Out of the Office

Little Miss "A's" Big Day!

Alright now, you guys know that I don't have any little girls. If I did, however, I would want her to look just like Miss "A"! She is absolutely ADORABLE! Those cheeks tug my heartstrings everytime I photograph her. I am so glad that her parents moved back to South Carolina. Her mom was flying here all the way from California to get her pictures taken (well....and to see Grandma & Grandpa). Hope you like your pictures guys!

Miss "O" is a girl from my own heart. She tore into her birthday cake & never looked back. Her mom had to literally jump around behind me just so she would look up at the camera. When a piece of her cake fell on the floor, she got down there with it, picked it up & ate it. Miss "O" didn't want any of her delicious cake to go to waste. "You Go Girl!"

Whoever said that it takes a village to photograph a 3 month old definitely knew what they were talking about! Baby "S" rolled over for the first time during his photo shoot. Over the past few years, I have watched little "F" grow up into a very handsome young man. His love for life astonishes me each time he enters the studio. Can you believe it! We are Bloggin It Baby! We are so excited to announce that we now have an official blog for our customers to keep up with ever-changing events at the studio. Not to mention (and most importantly) we are so proud of our customers that we want to show them off! My goal is to create a new post at least twice a week.
